Pierson Fodé has been slowly winning over Netflix subscribers, and in his latest movie, The Wrong Paris, he gets everyone hot and bothered by his shredded physique.
The actor costars alongside Miranda Cosgrove in the cishet romcom, and if that’s your thing, it’s currently the most-watched Netflix film.
But quite possibly it isn’t, or you want more. Let us put you onto something different that Fodé has done of a gay nature. Are you ready?
Pierson Fodé appears in two episodes of Animal Kingdom Season 6 playing Ryan, Darren Cody’s (Jake Weary) love interest.
Animal Kingdom, if unfamiliar, is a crime drama created by John Wells. It tells the story of the Cody crime family, including their youngest son Darren, who’s gay.
Darren has had hookups here and there and was in a long-term relationship with Adrian Dolan (Spencer Treat Clark) until the latter went into hiding.
In Season 6, Darren is trying to put himself out there and meets the hunky Ryan, and they go on several dates.
Darren and Ryan Have Some Hot Chemistry
While they are not officially going steady, Ryan and Darren become familiar with each other, even though Ryan feels like Darren is holding back a lot.
Darren is used to having guys satisfied with being screwed, but even the amazing sex can’t fulfil Ryan, who’s looking for more.
For research purposes, watch Animal Kingdom Season 6 Episode 4, “Inside Man,” at around 3:44 to see what we’re talking about.
When the episode aired in 2022, Fodé shared the post below on his Instagram.
The sex is mindblowing, but Ryan communicates that he wants to know more about Darren. How does a bar owner afford such a cool place? Why does everyone respect Darren so much?
For their next date, Ryan suggests that they change the order of things, and instead of sex first, how about they try to go out like regular people?
Darren agrees to visit Ryan in San Diego, but during their date, hard conversations come up.
Darren goes to the bathroom, where, while waiting for his turn, a guy comes up and strikes up a homophobic conversation. He sees Ryan and another queer friend interacting without keeping six feet distance as mandated by the heterosexual handbook, and is offended.
Not knowing that Darren is gay, the guy falls into a trap after being invited to a gay bashing.
Tables are turned when Darren descends on him hard, as Ryan watches in horror. At that moment, Ryan regrets wanting to know more about Darren.
Suffice to say, the date ends, and so does their potential for something serious.
Why Did Darren Reveal His Nature to Ryan?
Like everyone in his family, Darren loves violence. He’s never known anything different, and it’s his answer to everything.
When we first meet him and Adrian, he literally beats up Adrian to hide the fact that they were hooking up.
Several factors, including alcohol, the conversation about his mother and ex-boyfriends, and personal growth, influence the decision to beat up the homophobic guy.
Younger Darren would have possibly gay bashed Ryan, even when he’s gay himself.
It could also have been a test to see if Ryan accepts all of him, like Adrian did, violence, robbery, murder, and all.
Putting the beast on display is a sure test to see if Ryan will cower. Too bad his fears were confirmed.
The logline for The Wrong Paris reads:
A young woman (Cosgrove) joins a dating show, thinking it’s in Paris, France, but it’s actually in Paris, Texas. She plots a way to get eliminated until her unexpected feelings for the bachelor (Fodé) complicate her plans.
Pierson Fodé Is a Huge Ally/ Loves the Gay-for-Pay Cheque
Animal Kingdom is not Fodé’s first gay role, as he also starred in another film, Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, playing a gay best friend alongside Victoria Justice.
“Naomi and Ely have loved each other their whole lives, even though Ely isn’t exactly into girls. The institution of a “No Kiss List” has prevented the two from rifts in the past, but bonds are tested when they both fall for the same guy,” reads the film’s logline.
Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List is a product of its time, so don’t expect to have your mind blown.
Fodé will also be seen in the trans-led drama, Dope Queens.
